Psalm 62.5 My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from Him.
David, the man after God’s own heart, commands his soul to wait upon God. We do not know what the situation was that David was in, but this we know for sure, his expectation was in God and from God alone. All that was within David was waiting quietly upon God.
Waiting upon God is the key for personal renewal and strength. The prophet Isaiah declared but those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint. Waiting upon God precedes new strength. Waiting upon God precedes soaring on wings like eagles. Waiting upon God precedes running, and not growing weary.
So this morning beloved, take the time and make the time to wait upon God. Sit before Him expectantly. Wait upon Him reverently. Look upon Him adoringly. May we learn to command our souls to wait upon God, for He alone is our rock and salvation. Blessed be The Name of The Lord Who has made the way for us to come before His throne of mercy and grace in time of need. The Lord is good unto them that wait for Him, to the soul that seeks Him.
