The Scriptures give to those who are regenerated by grace through faith in The Lord Jesus Christ blessed assurance of salvation. John in language that is about as clear as can be tells us: “He who has the Son has life, and he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.” (1 John 5:12) The apostle Paul tells us that if any person does not have the Spirit of Christ, he or she does not belong to Him (Romans 8:9).
May we always be mindful of the words which Jesus spoke to the disciples that last night in the upper room, to remember Him (Luke 22:19,20). May the Holy Spirit quicken us to remember Him and His sacrifice for our sins! Jesus Christ propitiated the wrath of God that we deserve on His cross (1 John 2:2, 4:10). Jesus Christ completely paid the ransom for our sin debt on His cross (John 19:30; Colossians 1:14, 2:13,14). Jesus didn’t die as a martyr; He died as a sacrificial Lamb to take away the sin of the world (John 1:29; Revelation 5:6). He tasted death for every man (Hebrews 2:9) in order that those who trust in Him would never taste of the second death (Revelation 2:11, 20:6,14, 21:8).
Yes! He who believes on The Son of God has everlasting life (John 3:36, 5:24, 6:47)! Yes! The gospel is indeed good news (Romans 1:16,17)!
Reader, do you have Jesus Christ dwelling in your heart today? Do you have the internal witness of The Spirit of God (Romans 8:16)? Jesus told the apostles before He ascended up into heaven to preach repentance and remission of sins to all nations (Luke 24:46 – 48) because there are only two kinds of people in this world…the have’s and the have not’s. Oh I am not talking about the intellectual elite or the financially prosperous. I am talking about the have’s being those who have repented of their sin and, by virtue of trusting in The Lord Jesus Christ, have eternal life; and the have not’s as being those who think that they are good enough to go to heaven on their own (Romans 3:10 – 23). Do not be deceived, my friend; apart from faith in Jesus Christ, you have no hope. Jesus is the ONLY Way to The Father (John 14:6). Trust Him today and receive the gift of eternal life (Romans 6:23).
