1 Kings 10:8 Happy [are] thy men, happy [are] these thy servants, which stand continually before thee, [and] that hear thy wisdom.
When the queen of Sheba met King Solomon, her breath was taken away at the vastness of his kingdom, the splendor of his palace, and the extent of his wisdom.
On a human level, Scripture bears record that her assessment was indeed true. But this morning, dear ones, let’s reflect on the Greater than Solomon, The Lord Jesus Christ, to Whom none can compare.
How much happier should we be, who know Jesus as Lord and Savior! By the grace of God, we are able to sit before Him and hear His wisdom continually. Oh, how blessed we are to have such fellowship with The King of Kings. The Proverbs tell us, Blessed [is] the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.
For many of God’s people, life is like a maze of activity and responsibility that can indeed become very taxing and perplexing. But through our Greater than Solomon, we have the privilege of sitting before The Lord, hearing Him, watching Him work and waiting for His moment-by-moment directions.
“And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word. But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.”
Before we engage others today. Before we answer one email or text message. Before we read the morning news or sports scores. Spend time with Jesus. Do the one thing needful. God says you will be happy and blessed. Blessings today beloved.
