Isa 25.1 O Lord, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name;
for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.
A common word used during any political campaign is change. Every politician and political party promises to bring about change. That desire and need for change is often warranted. But one thing never changes: The Everlasting God and His counsel. Our world and culture in forever changing. Technology is increasing on a daily basis. But, the solution to man’s problems and needs are the same today as in the Garden of Eden. We need The Lord and His counsel.
Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where [is] the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk [therein]. It is sad to hear people say that God’s ways are no longer valid. Man is always seeking to redefine biblical terms in order to justify ungodly behavior. God says, return to the old paths. His counsels and ways are faithful and true, beloved. There is no better way to have a family or marriage than God’s way. There is no better way to handle guilt and worry than God’s way. When the man in hell cried out for help, the heavenly response was, they have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.
Dear ones, may you renew your purpose today to cling to God’s counsel. Listen for His still small voice. And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left. Pray without ceasing. Meditate on His Word day and night. For His Name and His counsels are Faithful and True.
