Hebrews 13:21 Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is well pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
A modern translation of this verse reads, “equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.” (NIV)
That is what God is doing in your life today, beloved. He is equipping you with all that you need through Jesus Christ in order that He might bring forth in your life that which is pleasing to Him.
God is a resourceful God. He never extends His power towards us without a definite purpose. Because we are so prone to forget, it is imperative that we remember that our lives belong to God. What we once called “our” life now belongs to Him. The Lord promises to equip you today in order that everything you do will bring Him glory.
Pleasing God is His will for you today. Wherever you go, please God. Whatever you say, please God. Whenever you are tempted, please God. When you are weak, please God. When you are strong (oh beware of thinking this!), please God. This prayer in Hebrews is my “send off” for you today. You will be equipped by God throughout your day in order that you might please Him and bring Him glory.
Thank you for the “send off” this morning Pastor Ray. We/I often do not acknowledge (or apply) the Godly “equipment” He gives us to do His will and to honor Him. Excuses come out suggesting we are sinners, unable, too limited etc. to justify our actions or lack of action. He equips us for a reason. He works in us with a purpose. Reminds me of the old song “If I Had a Hammer”. When He equips us with a hammer, let’s use if for His glory.
God bless,
JoseM
