Revelation 22.20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
1 Corinthians 12.4-7 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.
I have been in the body of Christ for enough years now to experience the many times that people have wrongly predicted the exact day when Jesus would return. I have also experienced over the years disorderly and unbiblical expressions of charisma. These demonstrations of extremism in “The Name of Jesus” have turned people off, both inside and outside of the church whenever the subject of the coming of Christ and the present day operation of the gifts of The Holy Spirit is brought up. Because of the odd behavior of those claiming to be Spirit-filled, or the downright false “Thus saith The Lord” predictions of the return of Christ, even those in the body of Christ tend to “play it safe” and avoid any and every discussion about these two very critical doctrines of Scripture.
Beloved, I am unashamed to tell you that Jesus Christ is coming again! Surely, I come quickly, Jesus said. The certainty of His coming will impact the way that we live and the way that we serve. There will be a sense of urgency and immanency. Belief in the doctrine of the coming of Christ will cause you to walk carefully, redeeming the time for the glory of God. It will affect every single area of your life. It will affect your priorities.
Do not be afraid to tell people that Jesus Christ is coming again. He said that He was!
Likewise, because of emotional, unbiblical expressions of “the move of God’s Spirit”, many saints shy away from any kind of discussion or expression of the gifts of The Spirit. My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, The Holy Spirit is alive and well in the body of Christ today. Do not allow the error of these religious extremists rob you of the biblical reality of the coming of Christ or the Person and operation of the gifts of The Holy Spirit in and through His church.
