Acts 4:27 For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together.
Acts 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
Prophesying of the coming of Christ, the prophet Isaiah wrote, “The Spirit of the Lord GOD [is] upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to [them that are] bound.” The anointing of God upon Jesus is what destroys the works of the devil (1 John 3.8). The significance of the anointing of God is not only His calling unto some office or work; but it also manifests itself with supernatural power. It is the anointing of God and from God that destroys every yoke that holds people in bondage. This anointing that was upon Jesus was placed upon the 12. The gospel narrative in Mark 6:13 reads, “And they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed [them].”
It is only by the anointing of God that sinners are delivered from the powers of darkness and bondage. That power of God’s salvation is most certainly contained in the preaching of the gospel. But it is also manifested in the miraculous operations of the Spirit, in and through those whom He has anointed. The Spirit of God and the anointing of God are alive and well today.
destroys My prayer is that the bondage breaking, yoke destroying anointing of God would fall upon each and every one of you this morning. Do not allow the heretical or counterfeit expressions of divine power rob you of the present day power of God in your life, by grace, through faith in Jesus Christ. Isaiah 10:27 And it shall come to pass in that day, [that] his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.
