Hag 2:4 Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel, saith the LORD; and be strong, O Joshua, son of Josedech, the high priest; and be strong, all ye people of the land, saith the LORD, and work: for I am with you, saith the LORD of hosts:
Three times in this passage we find the phrase “be strong”. But the strength that God calls on them to have is not their own natural, human strength. So exactly what does God tell them would be the source of their strength?
“I am with you,” God told Joshua when he took over the reigns of leadership from Moses to lead the people of God into the promised land, be strong and courageous (Josh 1.6-9); The Holy Spirit exhorts each and every Christian to put on the whole armor of God and be strong in The Lord and in the power of His might (Eph 6.10).
One of the most comforting promises of Jesus is His promise “I am with you always.” The fact that Jesus is always with us is greater than miracles, greater than gold and silver. Life at times is hard and very challenging. How do we cope with the pressures, the pain, the disappointments? By embracing the promise of Jesus, “I am with you.”
Whatever need or challenge that you are facing in life right now, The Lord Jesus is with you. Remember these words of Jesus, I am with you!! If God be for us, who can be against us? Selah.
