John 1:14 “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”
The prophet Isaiah wrote, Isaiah 4:6 “And there shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the daytime from the heat, and for a place of refuge, and for a covert from storm and from rain.” The tabernacle of God was a shadow of protection from the scorching daytime heat. A place of refuge in times of trouble or danger. A covert, or shelter from storms or torrential rain. In bible typology, all of this is a picture of God’s perfect tabernacle, The Lord Jesus Christ.
May God’s Spirit minister to our hearts this morning the benefit of understanding these truths in our hearts. Jesus Christ, The Lord of glory is with you beloved. He, the hope of glory, dwells within you. Thus, as the events of your life unfolds today, hold the thought that Jesus is your tabernacle in your heart and in your mind. When things heat up, Jesus is your tabernacle. When trouble or danger arises, Jesus is your tabernacle. When the storms of life come raining down, Jesus is your tabernacle. Jesus’ tabernacle provides strength, shelter and security. There will never be a nanosecond of time today when you will be severed from Jesus. When these truths sink down deep into our souls, they enable us to endure those proverbial “bumps in the road of life” with confidence. Jesus, your tabernacle is God Almighty. John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” Jesus, your tabernacle is Emmanuel, God with us.
Jesus came to reveal the glory of God. He came to “put a face on The Father” (John 14.9; 2 Cor 4.6). Jesus dwells in you, with you, and around you, dear ones. Your help today comes from the Maker of heaven and earth. Bask in His divine shadow, shelter and strength today beloved. Greater is He Who is in you, than He that is in the world.
