Proverbs 15:16 Better [is] little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure and trouble therewith.
When a person is saved and walking in the reverent fear of God, their quality of life is better than before. In the Proverb we are told that a little child of God is far more worthy than being wealthy and walking a life of trouble. Repeatedly, God tells us His kingdom has a value that far surpasses anything that earthly riches can supply. The much needed wisdom that comes from God is far more valuable than a large bank account. Why? Scriptures say, For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold. A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked. Better is an handful with quietness, than both the hands full with travail and vexation of spirit.
Dear child of The King, life is better, far better in The Lord than the best of days apart from Him. For a day in thy courts [is] better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. Even the simplest dinner of vegetables for a child of God is far more satisfying than a dinner of surf and turf that is eaten with a soul and mind that is filled with hate. God says, better is a dinner of herbs where love is, than a stalled ox and hatred therewith. The way of the world is to put our trust in man’s wisdom and influence; but God says, It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. In spite of what God days regarding this better life, the enemy is constantly seeking to convince us that “the old days” were better. But Solomon wrote, say not thou, What is the cause that the former days were better than these? for thou dost not enquire wisely concerning this.
But this better life that we have in Christ is also a life that anticipates a better world to come. It is said of those who are born of The Spirit that now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city. For those who are in Christ Jesus, the best is yet to come. Revelation 21.3-5 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God [is] with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, [and be] their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. Amen beloved! Amen.
