In Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount, He said that unless a person had a righteousness that exceeded, or that was deeper, than that of the scribes and Pharisees, then they could not enter God’s kingdom. What Jesus meant was that what the Pharisees did was all external and superficial. Their righteousness was self-righteousness and not a work of God in their hearts. True righteousness is based on the finished work of Jesus Christ. Please join Pastor Ray Viola as he continues his discussion of Hebrews chapter four.
