When we enter God’s promised rest in Jesus Christ, it means that we can rest from our works, just like God rested from His. That is, we can rest from the exhausting, futile, and unpleasant work of trying to earn our way to heaven. Genuine righteousness is not works-based. Jesus Christ is our only true Righteousness, and He completed all the necessary work for our salvation a long time ago. Please open your Bible to Hebrews chapter four, and listen as Pastor Ray Viola begins his discussion of the first five verses.
