Satan did not question or contradict any of the Lord’s approving statements about Job’s moral quality, but he did question Job’s motives. Therefore, the book of Job does not really deal with why good people suffer but with what motivates people to serve God. Trials reveal what is really in our hearts, and God sovereiginly uses the Enemy to bring out our impurities so that we can confess them and be cleansed. Please listen as Pastor Ray Viola continues his study of Job chapter one.
