God loves His people. Because of this, He sometimes has to chasten us, just as He has had to chasten Israel. However, God is also merciful and compassionate, and He does not chasten us (or Israel) with the full force of His wrath. He just wants to keep us on the right path that leads to eternal life, preventing us from wandering onto the path that leads to destruction. Please open your Bible to Psalm seventy-eight, verse thirty-eight, and listen as Pastor Ray Viola resumes his study of this historical psalm.
