Unrefined salt, such as one might find near the Dead Sea is impure. Washing such raw salt with water tends to remove the salt more easily than its impurities. What remains of the raw salt after washing is unsuitable for human consumption; in fact, the only property of salt that the residue retains is the ability to kill vegatation. Therefore, it is cast in unpaved walkways to be trodden upon. As Christians, we must remain pure so that we can enhance lives rather than destroy them. Please listen as Pastor Ray Viola completes his discussion of Matthew chapter five, verse thirteen.
