In His grief, Job did not view death as an enemy, but as a place of rest and relief from his worldly woes. People that take their own lives mistakenly believe this also. Job did not have the complete revelation of Scripture, and some cults take Job’s words out of context to promote the false doctrine of soul sleep. Only those that have been redeemed by Jesus will find rest for their souls after they die.
