Job’s friends accused him of hidden sin, and they offered a false formula for peace with God. Zophar assumed that he had a greater understanding both of Job and of God than he really did. False doctrine, even if held with sincerity, is still a lie. Growing in frustration, Job scolded his critics, and he sought to plead his case with God and not with his worthless comforters. Please open your Bible to Job chapter twelve, verse seven, and listen as Pastor Ray Viola discusses Job’s response to Zophar.
