Psalms twenty and twenty-one are two of seven royal psalms in Scripture. The royal psalms all point to Christ, the ideal King. Every king in David’s royal line was anointed to serve in anticipation of the coming of this perfect King. Contrary to what actually happened, these mortal kings were to to be in constant communion with God, living lives that were fully surrendered to Him.
