The next Beatitude concerns meekness. Contrary to popular notions, meekness is not weakness. A meek person is like a wild animal that has been tamed: It retains all of its natural power and strength, but every bit of it is held in submission to the will of its master. A meek Christian is one that readily submits their will and strength to Jesus.
