Our next Beatitude is the very antithesis of the spirit of this world: Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted. The world does not mourn over sin, its consequences or its effects. In fact, the world celebrates sin in story, song, and script. However, a person cannot experience the comfort and grace of God until they are brought to a place of mourning for their sin. Please listen as Pastor Ray Viola begins his discussion of the second Beatitude found in Matthew chapter five, verse four.
