The last octet of the longest Psalm contains seven petitions that begin with the word ‘let’. He started with a petition that asked God to hear his cry. Then he sought spiritual understanding. Finally, he closed with a confession that he had strayed like a lost sheep. Isaiah wrote that all we like sheep have gone astray, which becomes very clear once we understand the truth of God’s word.
