After twleve years in Jerusalem, Nehemiah had to return to Persia for a couple years. When he came back to Jerusalem, he found that changes had occurred in Judah that were in serious violation of the Mosaic Law. Moreover, an enemy had established a center of operations right in the midst of God’s people! We must be vigilent in our walk with the Lord, lest we find our lives so full of worldly things, that we have no room for godly things.
