Psalm 1.2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord;
and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

I don’t know about you, but my mind can be an endless stream of busyness and flat out wrong thinking about things. That in and of itself is one reason why I need to stay in God’s Word and meditate on it day and night. It is only as we read and meditate on God’s Word that we can think like God.

Oh, how my heart aches to think like Jesus! But that ache cannot and will not be accomplished apart from me taking the time and spending the time to be alone with Him and His Word every day.

I heard it said that the man or woman of God needs to start their day spending time with God before they talk to anybody’s else.  Now that may be legalistic if your body clock is not suited for early morning, but the point is this: as followers of Jesus Christ, we need to be mentally disciplined in the Word of God. If we intend to think like God, we need to be in His Word day and night. Not reading to check off my “One Year Through The Bible” program, but reading to know and fall in love with The Author and Finisher of our faith, Jesus Christ.

Only then will we begin to think like God. We will begin to respond to life situations according to Scripture, rather than react according to the natural man’s understanding. The Psalmist said, “I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings.” Note, I will mediate.. I will talk of Thy doings. The person that is in The Word will talk much about The God of the Word.

Precious saints of The Most High. May your time in The Word and with The Lord Jesus this morning be most profitable. Keep the things you read this morning in your thoughts throughout the day. Let a Scripture be a net that gathers in your hurried and scattered thinking. Think God’s Word today, it is a source of life and peace in a hurried and busy world.
