Proverbs 12:28  In the way of righteousness is life; and in the pathway thereof there is no death.

Jesus taught us that there are two paths in life: the broad path that leads to destruction, and the narrow path that leads to life (Matthew 7:13-14). Moses said to the children of Israel,  “I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.” (Deuteronomy 30:19-20) Choose life. Joshua echoed those words this way: “And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve The Lord.” (Joshua 24:15)

Today we have a choice to make. We can walk the broad path of the world and die, or the narrow path of righteousness and live. God’s ways are the ways of life. People do not fall into sin, they walk into it with eyes wide open. Likewise, people do not stumble onto the path of righteousness. They choose to go there. Romans 6 is the yield chapter for the child of God. Your feet, eyes, hands, and mouth all heed whatever you instruct them to do. May we yield ourselves to the Spirit of God today and choose to walk and talk in the ways of righteousness. The choice is yours. Life or death. Choose life.
