Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

Note that the Name of God is rarely mentioned in the Bible book of Ruth and never mentioned at all in the book of Esther. Yet the invisible hand of God is working out His divine plans and purposes.

There is a lesson in the providence of God for all of us this morning. It is the lesson that chance is not blind – its path is directed under the eyes of the Lord. It is the lesson that “coincidence” is spelled P-r-o-v-i-d-e-n-c-e in heaven’s dictionary. God not only has His hand with kings and princes and great battles, He also has His hand in the mundane and the everyday happenstances of life. They are all within the realm of His plan.

Beloved, God is working in your life in ways that are beyond your ability to figure out. When life is tough and circumstances are grim, do not wave the white flag of surrender or compromise. Cling to Jesus, because only Jesus has and is all we need! He is rest for the weary (Matthew 11:28; Psalm 23:2-3). He is refreshment for the thirsty (John 7:37; Psalm 23:2b). He is food for the hungry (John 6:35; Psalm 23:5a). He is healing to the injured (Psalm 23:5b). He is comfort for the afflicted (2 Corinthians 1:3-4). He is hope for the discouraged (Psalm 23:5,6). He is shelter for the frightened (Psalm 23:4). He is using all circumstances and trials to bring you to the realization that when all is said and done, Jesus is all you need!
