Moses, the Lawgiver, was unable to take the Israelites into the Promised Land. Before he died, Moses transferred his authority to Joshua, whose Hebrew name means Jehovah is salvation. Jesus, a Greek name, has the same meaning as Joshua. So, Moses typifies the Law, which identifies sin, but cannot save anyone from its consequences, but Joshua, typifying Jesus, is the one that was able to lead Israel out of the wilderness into the Promised Land. Please open your Bible to Joshua chapter one, and listen as Pastor Ray Viola begins his study of this historical book.
