The Lord’s supper is an ordinance of God given to the Church as a visible representation of Christ’s once-and-for-all sacrifice for our sins. Unfortunately, observance of this ordinance within the Church too often emphasizes the process of His death rather than its purpose. Jesus died so that believers could be reconciled with God, which enables us to be united with one another and with Him forever.
