Spring evokes thoughts of flowers, longer days, and outdoor exercise. However, in ancient times, spring meant that it was time for kings to go war. In today’s passage, Israel’s army went out to war, but King David stayed behind. The Chronicler did not mention David’s sin with Bathsheba, but his complete life story shows that we are safer on the battlefield if we are in God’s will than if we try to avoid the battles that God wants us to enjoin. Please open your Bible to First Chronicles chapter twenty, and listen as Pastor Ray Viola begins his study.
