Acts 3.5,6 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them. Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.
Ephesians 3.20,21 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
Unto him [be] glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

In the account of the miraculous healing of the lame man in Acts 3, we discover that God gave him much more than what he asked for. I am very reluctant to reduce the sovereign works and ways of God to a formula, but what I’d like to pass along to you this morning is this: God gave this man much more than what he asked for. He was a beggar. He was asking for money, and no doubt, he would have been satisfied with whatever amount Peter and John gave to him. But God gave him exceeding abundantly beyond his wildest imaginations. God healed him, and more than that, he appears to have become a follower of Christ.

Another lesson we see here is that Peter and John did not have any money on them at the time, but what they had was much more than money. They had Jesus. Beloved, if Jesus is your Lord and Master, you possess riches that are greater than all the money in the world. The Name of Jesus is of greater value than the whole world. In His Name is life and peace and salvation. The Name of Jesus provides things that money can’t buy. He is The Prince of Peace. He is The Fountain of Living Water. He is The Resurrection and The Life. Like this lame man, when we come to the saving knowledge of Christ, we progressively learn that in Him, God has given unto us exceeding abundant above all that we asked for.

The day that this beggar received this miracle from God was “just another day”. Perhaps today is “just another day” in your Christian life. You have woke up to a number of needs. It just may be that as you step out today, The Lord will send a Peter and John your way with the message, in The Name of Jesus Christ, rise up and walk. My prayer is that whatever your need, Jesus would do exceeding abundant things in your life today!
