Proverbs 11:25 The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself. (KJV)

Allow me to give you a few other translations of this verse, and we will readily see what The Lord is saying to us.

The generous man will be prosperous, And he who waters will himself be watered. (NASB)

The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed. (NLT)

A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed. (NIV)

Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered. (ESV)

A person who is generous and kind will be a blessed person. A person who seeks to refresh and bless others will be a prosperous individual. Let that truth sink deep down into your soul this morning, beloved. This is a key to a blessed walk with Jesus and others.

Biblical principles are just as trustworthy as the law of gravity. A simple law of gravity states that what goes up must come down. A simple law or principle of the kingdom of God is that the liberal, generous or kind person will be refreshed and prosper. The givers, not the takers, prosper in life. When we are liberal with our time, talents, and expressions of kindness towards others, God promises that we will be refreshed and prosper in our souls.

Fight the tendency to be stingy. Resist the natural man’s way of thinking when it comes to stewardship of your time and talents. Gravity works 100% of the time, doesn’t it? So does the law of liberality and generosity. Even if the kindness you give away is rejected by others, God will water your soul. Do not allow your flesh to wither away the flow of God’s blessing in your life. Sow liberality and generosity and kindness, and you will be a blessed soul.
