Eph 3.12 In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.

Boldness in the Christian life is based solely on the merits of Jesus Christ. It is not an emotion per se. It is not “being pumped up”. Boldness is rooted and grounded in Jesus Christ.

Because Jesus is Who He is declared to be in Scripture, we can be bold. In fact, we are only as bold to the degree that we believe Who Jesus is and what He has done on our behalf. Boldness is not being cocky or rude. Boldness is simply proclaiming the truth of God in the Name of Jesus. There is no need to yell or scream. Yelling or screaming adds nothing to the accomplishments of Christ of His character.

How do we develop this boldness in our life? Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus. Peter and John developed this boldness by abiding in fellowship with the risen Lord Jesus.

“According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.”

Being a bold witness for Jesus is not based on your intelligence or academic ability to handle Scripture, it is the fruit of being in close communion with Jesus Christ. Knowing and seeking Christ is the basis of a lifestyle of boldness. Seeking Jesus and believing that He is Who He says He is will allow you to be a bold witness. Selah
