The Christian life is both a death and a resurrection. Although we live in this physical world, we are no longer citizens of this world. “Just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”

By faith in Jesus Christ, we are children of God. Likewise, by faith we consider our old man crucified, with our lives now yielded to God. The indwelling Spirit of God now quickens our mortal bodies, as we present ourselves to God.

However, this life in the Spirit is not without conflict, for there is temptation to indulge in the very things from which we have been redeemed. That is why Peter tells us to be armed for battle against going back to the old ways.

So say goodbye to that old way of living and thinking, and choose life, one deed at a time.
