Today’s passage describes key qualities of the Israelites that rallied around David when they made him king at Hebron. Most notably, the men of Issachar were able to discern what the LORD was doing by making David their king. All of them were able to hold rank, even in the heat of battle, because they were not double-minded. They fearlessly served their God and king with a pure heart, regardless of circumstances.
