Isaiah 19:19,20  In that day shall there be an altar to the LORD in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar at the border thereof to the LORD. And it shall be for a sign and for a witness unto the LORD of hosts in the land of Egypt: for they shall cry unto the LORD because of the oppressors, and he shall send them a saviour, and a great one, and he shall deliver them.

This chapter of Isaiah is a prophecy that is both for and against Egypt. Egypt is a type of the fallen world system. When the people of God were living in Egypt, they were living in bondage and under a heavy oppression. Such is true for those who are living not only in the world, but for the world. It is bondage and oppressive to live for the world’s approval. It is bondage and oppressive to live for the world’s fallen pleasures. It is bondage and oppressive when a person loves the world and the things thereof. Having experienced the bondage and oppression of idolatry and the powers of darkness, many Egyptians cry out to The Lord.

Is that you this morning, my dear reader? Are you reeling under the bondage and oppression of this world’s fallen glamour, lies and deception? If so, you are blessed that you can see that is the case. God has opened your eyes to see that the world passes away and the lusts thereof (1 John 2:17a). Maybe you have been trapped for years and see no way out. There is a way. THE way. Yahweh. Cry out to God, and He will send you The Savior, the Great One. Jesus is the Deliverer to all who call upon His Name (Romans 10:13). Go to Him. Cling to the hem of His garment. Whom The Son sets free is free indeed (John 8:36). Selah
