Proverbs 12:25 Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.

Chances are that some of you reading this blog this morning have heavy hearts. My hope and prayer is that in our few moments together this morning, God will give me that good word that will gladden your heart.

Let me remind you that the ministry of Jesus is a ministry of lifting heavy hearts. The prophet Isaiah declared these words that describe the ministry of Jesus Christ: “To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.” (Isaiah 61:3)

Dear ones in Christ, The Lord Jesus loves you with an everlasting love. A real love. Time after time in Scripture, God speaks of the cross as His supreme expression of love for us. Turn your heavy heart to the middle cross of Calvary right now. See the bleeding, dying Savior hanging there for your sin. See Him hanging there to absorb the full weight of the wrath of God for you.

Because He was forsaken, you will never be forsaken. John the revelator writes these good words for heavy hearts today: “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, ‘Behold, I make all things new.’ And he said unto me, ‘Write: for these words are true and faithful.’” (Revelation 21:4,5)
